The Struggle is REAL for LeBron and the Cavs

Lebron James and Stephen Curry

LeBron admits this season is the hardest for him

When the Cleveland Cavaliers swapped Kyrie Irving for Isaiah Thomas who, at the time of the trade, was still recovering from the injury he sustained during the last playoffs, many people were worried that this deal would have a rippling effect to the success rate of the Cavs. Despite getting Derrick Rose who was also dealing with his own injury problems among other matters, and Dwayne Wade, the defending Eastern Conference Champions are not as dominant as they used to be during the previous 3 seasons despite LeBron James playing another MVP-worthy season.
The Cavs began the season inconsistently and right now, they are nowhere near the super team that they should be. Why? If they are, then they should be holding the best record in the Eastern Conference, to say the least. Instead, the Cavs are in the 3rd spot in the East with a 26-17 record- 7 games behind the East-leading Boston Celtics.
Recently, LeBron James, who is averaging 27 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists, 1.7 steals and 1.1 blocks in 43 games this season has finally admitted one thing that has been observed by many: the 2017-2018 season has been the hardest for LeBron.

How bad is it?

Since December 19, 2017, the Cleveland Cavaliers have gone 3-9 and are riding on a 4-game losing streak. The Cavs lost to the Golden State Warriors, twice, and to the Celtics of Kyrie Irving. But one of the ugliest defeats that the Cavs have to endure this season was the one against the Toronto Raptors, 133-99. That, by the way, was the most lopsided defeat that has been absorbed by the Cavs. It was so horrible that LeBron James was seen yelling at his teammates at the bench as if he was the coach.

Conclusion

If the Cavs can’t figure things out before the playoffs, it will put Tyronn Lue’s coaching job in jeopardy and worse, it will almost secure LeBron James’ ticket out of Cleveland. However, we shouldn’t count the Cavs just yet because whether we like it or not, the Cavs are still seasoned for another Finals trip assuming the Cavs make it past the Celtics. And who knows? These struggles might benefit the Cavs in the long run.

By the Numbers: 3 Things that Failed the Cavs Against Indiana

And because of these things, the Cavs endured their 4th consecutive loss

The Pacers outscored the Cavs, 32-22 in the 4th quarter to come out with the win.

The defending Eastern Conference champions reloaded themselves during the busy off-season, bringing in Dwayne Wade back alongside LeBron and getting Isaiah Thomas and a bunch of role players from Boston in a deal that sent Kyrie Irving to the Celtics.
While those deals made the Cleveland Cavaliers, a much-stronger-on-paper “super team” which, according to their fans, can finally match-up well against the Golden State Warriors- should both teams meet again in the NBA Finals.
Now, let’s not get ahead of ourselves and stay in the course of the regular season, for now.
8 games into the new season, the Cavaliers are now 3-5, the same record that LeBron James has in his 8 trips to the Finals.
After starting the season with a win over the Celtics which was followed by another victory against the Bucks, the Cavs went 1-5 since then, including 4 straight losses, the last one from the hands of the Indiana Pacers who are by the way, playing well despite being without a consistent center or a superstar after trading away long-time star player, Paul George to the Oklahoma City Thunder during the early months of the 2018-2018 off-season.
So what happened to the Cavs against the Pacers? Below are the numbers:

22% Shooting from Deep

Let’s start with the worst one. To begin with, the Cavs are shooting 34% from long distance during the course of those 8 games- placing them tied for the 19th spot in that category. Against the Pacers however, LeBron James and company only made 7 OUT OF 31 ATTEMPTS from the 3-point line- that’s 22% 3-point field goal shooting, folks. And yet they allowed Indiana to hit 16 of their 26 attempts from that area. You see the difference? It was a huge difference.
Need any more? Here are the players who miserably struggled from outside:
  • Kevin Love: 2 of 6
  • LeBron James: 1 of 5
  • JR Smith: 2 of 6
  • Jae Crowder: 0 of 5
  • Kyle Korver: 1 of 5

8 Turnovers for The King

While there’s no doubt in everyone’s mind, or at the very least, in the minds of his fans, that LeBron James is on a course to win another MVP this season. But, how can you even win a basketball game if you are careless with the ball? Despite his 33 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists against the Pacers, one of the many things that haunted LeBron and eventually the Cavs, was his 8 turnovers- that’s half of the turnovers Cavs had during the entire game.

Lack of Intensity from the Starters

If your starters are struggling, then pray that your bench steps up. In this case, the bench of Tyronn Lue outscored the bench players of Indiana, 34-18. The problem was: the Cavs’ starters failed to match the intensity and consistency of the Pacers’ first five as the latter outscored the former, 106-73. Indiana could have beaten the Cavs by relying on their starters alone but fortunately, they had little help from off the bench.

Conclusion

Maybe the Cavs are dealing with many things nowadays, LeBron’s impending departure, Derrick Rose’s injury, Dwayne Wade coming off the bench, possible chemistry issue. You name it. Maybe having too many superstars have finally caught on the Cavs. Maybe it’s affecting their chemistry to begin with. Maybe. Maybe. Maybe. If they don’t sort things out by themselves, then they won’t be making it back to the Finals this season. Just maybe.

Derrick Rose Got a 2nd Chance Inside and Outside the Court After Being Cleared of Rape Case

Derrick Rose may bloom again after issue outside the court was cleared.

Derrick Rose Second Chance

Derrick Rose was one of the most promising players before injuries ruined his once bright career, but it isn’t the only issue he is experiencing. Derrick Rose ex-girlfriend accused him of rape back in 2013 and while this incident got nothing to do with basketball, it is still a baggage that Rose has carried in his head for some time.
Last Wednesday, however, the Jurors have officially cleared the former MVP of the accusation.  Derrick Rose and two friends was in a lawsuit of gang raping his ex-girlfriend when she was incapacitated from drugs or alcohol.
Derrick who will be playing with his 3rd team in his 9 year career is up for a fresh start and is en route to proving critics wrong.  Rose signed for a veteran minimum to play with LeBron James in Cleveland in hopes for a championship ring.

Eric Bledsoe for Kyrie Irving in the works?

LeBron James will be working out with Derrick Rose, Eric Bledsoe and others in Las Vegas, according to ESPN’s Chris Haynes.
We want to let you know that as early as now all these are just rumors. Eric Bledsoe and LeBron James know each other for awhile and this is not the first time they will be working out together again. Only this time situations have changed and when people see them together it could add more fuel to the flame.

Lakers Got Their Back up Point Guard After Failed Negotiation with Derrick Rose

No Rose will be wearing Purple and Gold, Lakers Moved on and Signed Tyler Ennis

Ennis has agreed to a two-year deal with the veteran’s minimum. Ennis will be a backup point guard for Lonzo Ball, assuming that they would use Jordan Clarkson as back up shooting guard and not point guard. Tyler Ennis was a member of the Lakers last season but wasn’t really playing enough minutes and he should expect the same thing especially with Lonzo Ball around. Ennis is going to be a Los Angeles Lakers filler, as the Lakers is already looking ahead for the big 2018 free agency.

Rose Alley Oop to Antetokounmpo: Bucks is Getting Close to Making This Happen

Rose and Antetokounmpo could be teammates soon!

Rose Alley Oop to Antetokounmpo: Bucks is getting close to making this happen

Derrick Rose at 28 should still be in the prime of his game but due to injuries, many teams have written him off their list. It’s just too risky to sign a Derrick Rose to a contract especially after everything he has gone through.
Bucks may be willing to risk as Coach Kidd has shown willingness and interest to meet him again for the second time to maybe potentially close the deal.  The only problem would be getting Rose to agree to a 5 million contract for the first year due to a limitation in the salary cap space.
Derrick Rose in the past 3 years have actually played around 60 games per season, averaged about 31 minutes per games and produces 17 points with 4 assists per game. It’s not bad at all.
It will be an exciting season for the Bucks if this negotiation pulls through, seeing the Greek Freak and Derrick Rose in the same uniform will be an eye candy.
Do you think acquiring Derrick Rose will be a good move for the Bucks?

Bulls and Pistons are Victorious in Opening Night

Chicago Bulls and Detroit Pistons both got a positive result on the season opener, after winning games against Cleveland Cavaliers and Atlanta Hawks respectively.

Bulls beat Cavaliers in a close game, 97-95 in United Center, Chicago. It was a very tight game and many beautiful plays shown by both sides. Cavaliers performed really well, and played as a solid team, but unfortunately fell short, even though they dominated in second, third and fourth quarters. Bulls led the Cavaliers 26-17, but Cavaliers stepped up and actually led Bulls for the rest of the quarters, 23-20, 28-25 and 27-26.

Jimmy Butler was the hero on the game. His steal on the last seconds Cavaliers’ attempt through Lebron James that intended to catch a pass from Mo Williams inbound ball secured the victory for the home team.

A little surprise on the line-up for the Bulls; Nikola Mirotic starts over veteran Joakim Noah. And it turned out pretty well. Mirotic ended the game with 19 points, and 9 rebounds in 25 minutes. The hero Jimmy Butler added 18 points for the Bulls. Bulls’ superstar point guard, Derrick Rose playing with a protective mask after undergoing fractured orbital bone surgery. He scored 18 points and 5 dimes. Pau Gasol had a block party, 6 blocks under his name on this season opener.

Meanwhile, Lebron James noted 25 points for Cavaliers, with 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Mo Williams, started his second stint with Cavaliers well, with 19 points and 7 assists against the Bulls. Kevin Love added 18 points and newly signed forward, Richard Jefferson made 10 points.

Another scene from the game was that President Barack Obama attended last night’s game in United Center. From his tweet, he seems very happy that Bulls ended up victorious.

Meanwhile in Philips Arena, Atlanta, The Hawks hammered by Detroit Pistons 106-94. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope was the star for the Pistons, scoring 21 points and 4 rebounds. Pistons’ big man Andre Drummond was having a game as well, with 18 points and 19 (yes, nineteen) rebounds for the away team. Marcus Morris added 18 points and 10 rebounds.

For the home team, German point guard, Dennis Schroder led the team with 20 points, while forward Paul Millsap has 19 and Jeff Teague scored 18. Hawks looked struggling without DeMarre Carroll, who left the team for Raptors in free agency, offensively and defensively, and Kent Bazemore, who played to fill Carroll’s spot, scored none.

ADIDAS AND DERRICK ROSE LAUNCH NEW D ROSE 4 SIGNATURE BASKETBALL SHOE AND APPAREL COLLECTION
Chicago Bulls point guard’s signature shoe features new design elements representing his distinct on-court play and off-court demeanor
PORTLAND, Ore., SEPT. 22, 2013 – adidas today unveiled the D Rose 4 signature basketball shoe and apparel collection – the latest in a line of premium and personal signature products designed for Chicago Bulls point guard, Derrick Rose. The D Rose 4 features an exclusive, tailored design inspired by Derrick’s distinct on and off-court personalities and will launch worldwide on October 10, just before Derrick hits the NBA court.
“When I’m out on the court I’m doing everything in my power to win, and off the court I’m a pretty laid back guy who likes to spend time with my family,” said Rose. “It’s cool adidas used this in the design of the shoe, and it performs great on the court and looks really nice off it.”
Divided by a bold line at the ankle, the front and back of the shoe represent the two distinct on and off-court personalities of Derrick. With tough and strong materials and innovative technology, the back heel was designed to highlight Derrick’s game and enhance his explosive and attacking style of play. The front of the shoe, made with premium materials and a sleek, clean design, represents Derrick’s relaxed and understated off-court style.
“On the court Derrick is a competitive and explosive player, but off the court he transforms into a humble person who is deeply dedicated to his family, team and the city of Chicago,” said Lawrence Norman, vice president, adidas Global Basketball. “This is what makes him truly special in this sport and this shoe, unlike any other, showcases these two sides of Derrick.”
In addition to reflecting the two distinct sides of Derrick, the D Rose 4 features updated performance and style characteristics that help to elevate his game and represent his unique style of play.
The shoe uses adidas’ Crazyquick outsole traction system – the company’s latest performance innovation – that gives Derrick maximum control and flexibility for quick moves on the court. adidas’ new SPRINTWEB technology, dynamic GEOFIT ankle support and improved molded SPRINTFRAME enhance the support, comfort and control of the shoe.  And, in what has become a trademark on Derrick’s shoes, the three reflective stripes on the back heel remind Derrick’s opponents of his quickness when he drives past and over them on the court.
The D Rose 4 also includes detailed style elements to deliver a clean off-court look. Premium elements include the gloss upper pattern featuring a modern material finish and smooth synthetic leather, a reflective D Rose logo on the ankle collar and an eye-catching hologram material overlaid by perforated synthetic leather to highlight the shoe’s prominent D Rose logo on the tongue.

In addition to the new shoe, the latest from the signature collection uses adidas’ most premium products and includes fleece sweatshirts and pants, tees, shorts, hats and socks to hook up with each colorway of the shoe.
Both the D Rose 4 and apparel collection feature the distinctive D Rose logo with three petals that revolve around the letter “D” and number “1” in the center. Derrick and adidas collaborated in 2012 to design and unveil a logo that represents his unique style of play and his family who helped guide him from Englewood to the NBA.
The D Rose 4 launches at retailers in the Philippines on October 10 for PHP 7995 in three different colorways. Four other editions will launch through the end of the year.
The D Rose signature collection is also available October 10.

Derrick Rose still think he is the best player in the NBA

Derrick Rose still think he is the best player in the NBA, can’t argue if the question is who was the best player in the NBA a couple of years ago, but someone need to remind Derrick Rose that its already 2013 and since then players like Lebron James have dominated the game. To give credit too Derrick Rose he really was an amazing player and it is good that he is still very confident about it, but he needs to put into consideration that he might not be the same after the almost career ending injury that he suffered. For those who believe that he will be the same player, I salute you, you are a true fan but you need to open your eyes as history tell us that injury changes a player game and it’s not usually upward.

Do you think he is still the best player?
