Friday, September 2, ONE Championship 47: Unbreakable Warriors took place at the Stadium Negara in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Hometown MMA superstar Ev Ting’s lightweight debut was successful. He scored a decision victory against Rob Lisita. ‘Ruthless’ already gassed in the first round. I was not expecting he would, but Rob did last the thee rounds.

Shannon Wiratchai threw uppercut and punches on Peter Davis that ended the bout by TKO in the co-main event of the fight card.

Yours truly was happy for Rene Catalan for defeating Zhang You Liang of China by unanimous decision. This gave the Filipino fighter his first ONE Championship victory. Catalan’s wushu skills outscored Liang throughout the three rounds.

The win streak of Team Lakay keep going after April Osenio upset Ann Osman by submission in a strawweight bout. This is so far the biggest fight impressively win by Team Lakay’s female warrior. She submits the ‘Ronda Rousey of Asia’ Ann Osman in the first round.

Bruno Pucci was knocked out by Nuerdebieke Bahetihan’s right hook. A hammerfist on the BJJ black belter forced referee Olivier Coste to stop the fight in just eight seconds of the first round. To the ground also, the Filipino Trestle Tan was took by Agilan Thani and tapped out after he was choked in round one. Not happy but I know they are coming back stronger than ever.

ONE Championship 47: Unbreakable Warriors

It is only been a week. The asia’s largest mixed martial arts promotion ONE Championship is back and they return to Kuala Lumpur at Stadium Negara tonight September 2, 2016.

The ONE Championship 47: Unbreakable Warriors will headline a lightweight bout between hometown MMA superstar Ev Ting who is moving up a weight class and the hungry to win Rob Lisita of Australia who is in a three-fight losing streak.

Kuala Lumpur’s star, actor, and model Peter Davis is going to face Shannon Wiratchai of Thailand in the co-main event. The Thai trains in various martial arts disciplines like muay Thai, boxing, wrestling and jiujitsu.

Our very own April Osenio is taking on Malaysian Ann Osman. In her last bout, Osenio upset Filipino-English fighter Natalie Gonzales Hills impressively by first-round armbar, despite being adept in the striking art of Wushu. Team Lakay’s female warrior aims to continue in the win column.

Trestle Tan who is also a Filipino is going against local MMA welterweight Agilan Thani. In his last bout, Tan made quick work of Djatmiko Waluyo at ONE: Tribe of Warriors in Jakarta last February, winning via rear-naked choke submission in an exciting matchup. Agilan Thani is unbeaten and won his spectacular technical knockout victory over American Brad Robinson last May.

The third Filipino to compete tomorrow night is Rene Catalan. Yours truly is hoping that he finally gets his first victory against his chinese opponent Zhang You Liang tonight. And headlining the live stream preliminary bout is BJJ black  belt and No Gi Grappling world champion Bruno Pucci vs Nuerdebieke Bahetihan.
