Highlights Lee vs Saunders: 3rd Round Knockdowns were Pivotal

Machester Arena witnessed the changing of a championship belt as once again as two prize fighters battled for the WBO world middleweght title.  What we thought would be an easy night for Saunders turned to be a grind as Andy Lee with his heart of a champion slug it out until the end.

The 3rd round knockdowns proved to be pivotal as judges scored the fight ( Phil Edwards 114-112, Dave Parris 115-111, Marcus McDonnell 113-113 ) Majority Decision in favor of the new WBO World middleweight champ Billy Joe Saunders.

Flash is back! New WBO Super Bantamweight Champ! Definitely a Candidate for Fight of the Year!

116-110, 116-110 and 117-109. These were the final scores after a night of immense battle between two courageous boxers. We thought Nonito Donaire had the fight early when he dropped Cesar Juarez twice in the early rounds but we were mistaken. Resilient Juarez came back strong and gave Nonito a fight that he would later call his toughest.
Nonito in the end emerged victorious and was clearly the better fighter that night getting a unanimous decision and once again putting his name on the podium of boxing by wining back the title that he lost a couple of years back.
Nonito has returned and he is the New WBO Super Bantamweight Champion of the World!

Highlights: Brian Viloria eating too much Chocolatito, referee had to stop the fight

Brian Viloria just could not handle Roman Gonzalez

We like our very own Filipino boxer Brian Viloria, we know he is one of the best fighter coming from the Philippines, but the Hawaiian Punch was not good enough for the Chocalatito. Roman Gonzales was just too sweet and strong for Viloria.

Viloria could not handle the barrage of punches and the referee had no choice but to stop the fight to prevent Viloria from getting diabetes, because he has been eating Chocalatito’s punches.

Roman Gonzales won via 9 round TKO.

Albert "The Prince" Pagara Shines in US debut in amazing fashion, KO’s Gonzalez in round 6! (FULL FIGHT INSIDE)

The Prince – Pagara

I believe that with the right training, conditioning and discipline this guy is the next deal! Pagara has been tested in this fight and i know that he has a lot to work on to be the the next dominant champion .

Round 1 – Both fighters were trying to test the waters first and trying to feel each other first, Pagara fought wisely as Gonzalez tried to engage early, It was a bit lack luster in round 1, Pagara 10-9.

Round 2 – Pagara showed the eagerness to win the fight early, he smiled at times as well, bought fighters trying to exchange blows but at within 2 minutes left Pagara connected a beautiful left counter punch to the jaw but Gonzalez kept pressing forward and tried to taunt Pagara to bring it on, Pagara was calm enough to just keep boxing and even with the ref threatening Pagara at times to fight clean (although I don’t think he was hitting way below), Pagara delivered a knockdown within 20 seconds remaining in round 2, however it was waived because Pagara delivered a punch with Gonzalez down on his knees, The referee stepped in and warned to disqualify Pagara if he would do that again. The knockdown has been waived because of the illegal punch. Pagara 10-9 could have been a 1-8 easily.

Round 3 – Gonzalez started the round as if he was looking for a knockout pressing Pagara at times but that didnt really matter at all as Pagara counter punched his way into round 4. Pagara 10-9

Round 4: Gonzalez kept pressing forward and got Pagara on the ropes a number of times but often his punches didnt really bother Pagara, Pagara showed that he can take a punch at the same time box wisely, I am really impressed how he handled the pressure that is given to him by Gonzalez, Pagara still dictated the fight and delivered the more telling blows. Pagara 10-9.

Round 5: The situation didn’t really change but at this point the punches thrown by Gonzalez is telegraph well by Pagara. In the last 2 mins of the fight Pagara connected a 1-2 combination that staggered Gonzalez but Pagara was being cautious knowing that his opponent is a power puncher. Pagara won the round 10-9

Round 6: Gonzalez really wanted to KO Pagara and delivered a series of combination trying to head hunt Pagara. Pagara was cornered on the ropes as Gonzalez tried to unleash punches but Pagara was able to get out of it by pushing Gonzalez away and within the last min Pagara connected a 1-2 combination that floored Gonzalez to the ground and didnt get up as the referee counted him out.

With the win Pagara improved to 25 wins 18 KO’s no defeats.

Golovkin stays unbeaten! Stops Lemiux in 8 rounds! Who’s next?

Gennady Golovkin proved that he is too much for David Lemieux to handle, With the victory Golovkin is now the title holder of IBF, IBO and WBA champ. Golovkin dominated the entire fight however Lemieux fought aggressive during rounds 4,5,6 knowing he was down the first 3 rounds. This fight showed how great Golovkin is as a boxer, he is not just a heavy hitter thanks to his 400 plus wins during his time in the amateurs.

Golovkin’s biggest knack is probably not going to super middle weight or higher, as a fan i dont want to see either Canelo or Cotto to fight GGG, both fighters might not even win vs Lemieux,

GGG improved his astounding record to 34 wins with 31 ko’s 91% ko ratings with the last 20 wins all ended with a ko or stoppage.

Here is the highlight of the fight:

Who’s Next for GGG? Ward or Quillin,! I want WARD!

PACMAN FAN! Flanagan stopped Magdaleno! ROUND 2 TKO! Retains his WBO Lightweight Title!

Terry “TURBO” Flanagan

Flanagan made quick work on this one and Magdaleno looked awkward. Flanagan delivered 3 knockdowns before the referee stepped in to stop the fight. The first knock down was a counter right hook to the face and looked like it was just a stinger. Magdaleno stood up but the beautiful left upper cut and a right hook with a flurry of punches sent the challenger Magdaleno to the canvas again. The Third knockdown looked like Magdaleno is just fighting out of instinct but Flanagan didn’t gave him any room as the referee stopped the bout at the 2:38 mins of round 2.

With the win Flanagan improved to 29 wins 12 KO no defeats. Magdaleno suffered his first stoppage, its quite weird because the stance of Magdaleno is too wide he actually slipped twice before the combination

HE’S BACK! The Problem Adrien Broner is the WBA World Superlight Weight Champ !!!

Adrien “THE PROBLEM ” Broner

Adrian “The Problem” Broner is BACK!!!!!!!!! Broner fought a great fight but it didnt look like a one sided fight, Allakhverdiev was in it for the title as well.

However from the start to finish Broner give the more telling shots round by round Broner made sure that he would win and on the 12 round Khabib is aware that he needed a knock out to win so Broner was in defense mode but smartly connecting when it matters.

Broner then delivers a right straight right that led to a flurry of punches to the head and the body that Stunned Khabib and the referee has seen enough and decided to stop the fight, 2:32 of round 12. With the win Adrien Broner improved to 31-2 with 23 KO and handed Khabib his first TKO lost. Khabib Allakhverdiev is now 19 – 2 with 9 KO’s.

With the win Broner climbed up as the #7 rank behind Provodnikov who could possibly the next opponent for Broner. There is one more fight that I would like for Broner it would be against WBC Superlightweight Champ Viktor Postol who knocked out Matthysse in the 3rd round.

I will leave you with the best ko’s and KD’s by Broner
