Basketball Culture : 2016 NBA Draft – Suit your Style


Thursday brought us the NBA draft, which means it brought us another opportunity to check out the latest fashions favored by elite basketball prospects. Overall, it was a big night for each and everyone’s unique bow ties, tuxedo jackets and black lapels.

(Malik Beasley, taken 19th by the Nuggets, wore a tie-knot the size of Colorado on a magenta tinted suit.)

Ben Simmons, who went No. 1 overall to the 76ers, wore a conservative, well-tailored blue suit, accented with a gold tie. He furthered the corporate-shark look by barely pausing to acknowledge a cameraman who had fallen backwards while filming the LSU product arriving at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js For Kris Dunn ,No. 5 Timberwolves, it’s gotta be the shoes and the Whalers suit with a heap of confidence, the standout aspect of his ensemble. He can only hope his NBA game sparkles as much as those kicks, but he also showed that what’s inside counts, too.


//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js Marquese Chriss (No. 8, Kings, traded to Suns) was resplendent in red crushed-velvet jacket, with a black-and-white bow tie. He certainly looked like he loves his look.
