When Chris Weidman beat the brazillian Vitor Belfort he retained his title as well as a wopping $500,000 for his first round victory. Yesterday was a day full of surprises and shock as the UFC 187 announced the winners. Chris Weidman retains his titles after supressing a punch combo from Vitor Belfort on the first round, but with a excellent timed tackle oldschool ground and pound finished of Vitor with a TKO victory.
With the Travis Browne fight vs. Andrei Arlovski it was a grudge match a fight to the teeth heavy swings all around as Andrei survive a devastating hook from Browne after retaliating heavy swings of his own putting Browne to the mat.
Daniel Cormier was able to snatch a win against Rumble Jhonson for the title. Cormier was able to outwrestle and outstruck Rumble earning a third-round submission victory to claim the vacant UFC light heavyweight title. As the post fight interview DC has a message of his own to saying.”I have a message for one man, Jon Jones,” Cormier (16-1) said. “Get your s— together, I’m waiting for you.”
Cormier left the cage after issuing his challenge.
