UFC 201: Milestones, AndNew TYRON WOODLEY and More Things To Know About The Card

The welterweight class has a new champion! Tyron Woodley took 2:12 only of the first round to defeat Robbie Lawler by TKO. The fastest finish in welterweight title history.

Woodley just gave the former champion a big shot that dropped Lawler. Then he pummeled and eventually the referee stop the fight.

Nick Diaz is the one that T-wood would love to fight at UFC 202. Georges St-Pierre at the Madison Square Garden was also mentioned.

“You’ll get your chance after I go make this money,” Woodley told the No. 1 Stephen Thompson during the post fight interview. The WonderBoy challenged T-wood for his new welterweight belt.

There were four finishes already during the preliminary. Wilson Reis, Nikita Krylov, Anthony Hamilton and Damien Brown’s first round wins made the card even more exciting. Wilson Reis earned the fastest submission in UFC flyweight history at 1:49 of round 1. Hope the match between him and flyweight champion Demetrius Johnson would still happen.

Huge upset win by Jake Ellenberger by way of liver kick knockout. This is Matt Brown’s second straight loss this year.

Karolina Kowalkiewicz will likely get her shot at strawweight title against Joanna Jedrzejczyk with a victory over Rose Namajunas.

The Performance(s) Of The Night bonus went to Woodley and Ellenberger, while Karolina Kowalkiewicz and Rose Namajunas earned the Fight Of The Night bonus.
