PagmamahaRun – Valentine’s Run – post event review 02/14/’16

PagmamahaRun as it was called is a combined word for “Love” and “Run” and was organized by Runtarantantan and RVMP Events. It was a blast! Not only because it’s valentine’s day and there are thousands of dating couples swarming here and there 😉

but… I witnessed a unique running event full of LOVE! Yes guys that’s correct! Everywhere you look, you can see happy faces!
Two days before the run, I got my singlet and 16k race bib. They have me fill up the registration / waiver form.(Thank you Powcast) I was so excited!

I got to the event about thirty minutes before the starting time. Some people were already assembling at the start line.

I also notice the “Love Walls” that RVMP Events’ facebook page posted online prior to the event…where people can write what they feel or post for a candid pic.

Before starting the race, there was a mini-program where Bearwin started w/ a brief introduction of how the event was prepared, giving advice and motivation with an input of his own fitness journey. National anthem was played then later on, Kuya Kim led us in prayer and gave a weather forecast:

With, bad news & good news. According to him, “Amihan” (cool northeast wind) will slowly disappear the following Monday but the good thing was that we still felt it during the run. 🙂

…then a short warm up exercise led by no other than Regine Tolentino. (“Show me whachya got girl!” – moves from New Thang- Redfoo) Weeetwew!

Exactly 5am… Ready…get set….GO! *gunstart*

The whole course went on smoothly along Roxas Blvd heading towards coastal mall (10k U-turn marker) to Luneta (16k U-turn marker) then going back to CCP complex. Also, they had provided about 8-10 water stations along the route. This helped me a lot, especially because I forgot to bring my own hydration bottle. 😦

Halfway through my course, I bumped into my high-school schoolmate, Chin Fresnido! Haha! So I gotta share this! Right side: She with her friends (Photo Credit: Running Photography)

I loved the route because it didn’t have many turns. It was a bit challenging because we had to go through 2 flyovers twice. It didn’t have markers like some of the runs so if you don’t have anything to use in monitoring your distance like an app., you wouldn’t determine the distance you already ran (3k, 6k, 8k and so on). Not really a biggie though!

After crossing the finish line, the marshal congratulated me and awarded the medal. Afterwards, I was directed to claim my finisher shirt. The claiming booths are located just nearby so it’s very convenient. Very organized indeed!

Post race program includes Bearwin, Mitoy Yonting, Gene Padilla, Long Mejia onstage. There are some lovers who even chose the event as a way to propose. (Naks!) Check out the proposal videos!:

All finishers got the heart shaped medals with corresponding distance ran/ registered, raffle entries and different freebies from sponsors. So cool!  Right now, I’m recovering from leg muscle sore, but I still feel great.

Here’s the video teaser released shortly by Runtarantantan’s Facebook page after the event:
