Victor Ortiz Says He Can be One of the Best in 147

Former WBC world welterweight champion Victor “Vicious” Ortiz believes that he can be one of the best in 147 pound division despite of rising new and younger champions including WBA/WBC champ Keith Thurman, IBF champ Errol Spence Jr and the latest WBO champ Jeff Horn.
“I still feel like I can be one of the best in the 147-pound division. It’s there for the taking. There are some gifted fighters in there and I respect them, but I believe that I have what it takes to be right up there. I’m a complete fighter,” Ortiz said.

“I’ve been written off before. People have said I should retire since my first loss. I came back from that loss and became a champion. I don’t care what people have to say about me. I could go act full-time if I wanted, but I truly love this sport.”

“When I took a step back, I realized that boxing has always been my true passion. I can’t walk away from something that I’m so gifted at and that I enjoy doing so much. I never get too worried about who is going to be in front of me on fight night. I just need there to be a ring. I’m excited to get back in there and get in the swing of things. I’m ready to fully pursue my goal of getting another world title.”

30 year old Victor Ortiz (31-6-2,24KOs) is scheduled to enter the ring with Mexican Saul Corral (25-9,16KOs) on July 30 at Rabobank Theater in Bakersfield California in a ten rounds non title Welterweight bout.

Adrien "The Problem: Broner VS Khabib Allakhverdiev for the vacant WBA World Super lightweight Title on Oct 03, 2015!

Broner vs Allakhverdiev
Sat, Oct 03 2015 @ U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio

Adrian “The Problem” Broner (30 wins 2 losses 22 via KO)
VS
Khabib “The Hawk” Allakhverdiev (19 wins 1 lose 9 via KO)

Both men lost before this title fight, but Broner’s lost to Shawn Porter happened this year as well in fact just last June 20, 2015 on the other hand, Khabib’s last fight happened April 4, 2014 when he lost to Jessie Vargas.

This is in Broner’s favor and I sure hope that it would be that way. Everything is in favor of Broner but no mistake about it this maybe the last hurray for Khabib because he is already 32 years old. I expect this to be a war nonetheless. Broner hasn’t scored a KO in his last 5 fights good thing for him is he is in the weight class where he can pretty much take everyone else’s punch. My prediction would be Broner via KO within 7 rounds.

There is another title on the line, its for the IBF World super featherweight title between:

       Jose Pedraza 20W 0L 0D 12KOs VS Edner Cherrry (34W 6L 2D 19KOs)

Saul Alvarez vs Erislandy Lara Result

Watch Canelo Alvarez vs Erislandy Lara Live on showtime

Alvarez vs Lara live streams can be found all over the net

Another great night in boxing as Saul Canelo Alvarez the Mexican sensation face Erislandy Lara of Cuba in a 12 round super middleweight bout that will determined who is the btter boxer between the two, at-least in their heads. This match is personal as both fighter taunted each other and definitely hate each other, expect an all out boom boom war.

Alvarez (43-1-1, 31 KO) returned on March 8 of this year with his first A-side PPV, selling solidly in a total demolition of Alfredo Angulo, rather relentlessly beating up on him until Tony Weeks made the decision to stop the fight in round 10. That was Alvarez’s first bout since his loss last September to Floyd Mayweather.

Lara (19-1-2, 12 KO) is a dangerous foe for just about anyone at 154 pounds, as the Cuban southpaw has the skills, slickness, and power to be a problem. Alvarez, though, has passed every test thus far in his career save for Mayweather, and done so with flying colors.

Time: Showtime pay-per-view starts at 9 p.m. ET; main event after 11 p.m. ET.

Lopez vs Vargas fight result

Juan Manuel Lopez vs. Francisco Vargas fight preview and prediction

Where are you watching Lopez vs Vargas live?

In my head, I think JuanMa Lopez is still a global boxing superstar, this guy have 34 wins and 3 losses, and 31 of his win are coming from KOs, that is an impressive knockout win ratio from the 31 years old boxer from Puerto Rico. His losses came from Orlando Salido and Mikey Garcia both a Mexican descent, both defeated him by knockout, Salido doing so twice.
JuanMa Lopez was exposed by these two fighters and his boxing credibility took some damaged and now he is fighting to stay relevant and to prove that he is one alpha dog in boxing.
His opponent, Francisco Vargas only fought 20 times and won 19 of them, with no loss and 1 draw and knocked out 13 of his opponents. While it looks like an excellent record, it is actually not as impressive if you look closer. Vargas have never faced anyone with the caliber of Lopez, most of his opponents have less than 10 or 20 fights, with the exemption of Ira Terry who have 36 fights under his belt but have lost 8 of his 10 fights before fighting Vargas.
We are not taking away anything from this guy but Vargas is in for a whole lot of trouble tomorrow night in Las Vegas. Vargas is 2 inches taller so look for him to stay away and fight from the outside, we are predicting that the smaller but more powerful JuanMa Lopez to engage and make this fight a slugfest.
I think this would end in a knockout in favor of JuanMa Lopez. I hope it does but let us not forget that all of the defeats of JuanMa is coming from knockouts too, still I highly doubt it. Francisco Vargas is untested against top-caliber fighters and like what I have said, this guy will kiss the canvas in before the 7th round.
Okay, I almost forgot Vargas have never lost so if he is able to take the punches well from JuanMa it might go further but either way I am picking JuanMa to knockout Francisco Vargas but then again JuanMa’s chin may not be the same. It could be Vargas time.
Who is your pick?
