Former Cavs Ilgauskas coaching prep basketball

Four years after his retirement in 2011, former NBA Cleveland Cavaliers center, 7-3,  Zydrunas Ilgauskas will take on a role as a volunteer assistant at Saint Ignatius High School in Cleveland.

Ilgauskas will help the Wildcats a few times per week this season as a volunteer, athletic director Rory Fitzpatrick. Ilgauskas expects to attend practice two to three times per week but will not sit on the bench for games, Fitzpatrick said.

The retired NBA All-Star will help returning first-year coach Brian Becker, whom Fitzpatrick said is friends with Ilgauskas.
