Results of UFC 203: Stipe Miocic vs. Alistair Overeem

Stipe Miocic successfully defended his title against 2010 K-1 World Grand Prix winner and former Strikeforce heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem last night, September 10 at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio.

The heavyweight title fight was crazy. Overeem’s guillotine choke in the first round was survived by Stipe Miocic. It fueled the champ and punches were thrown at ‘The Reem’ standing and on the ground afterwards. Alistair was just covering his face until the referee find the need to stop the fight.

The debut fight of wrestling superstar CM Punk was devastating. Mickey Gall submitted and forced the wrestler to tap in round one. “I’m just really, really proud of myself. I lost, it sucks. And it was lopsided. And it’s upsetting, but I know I’m better than that”, CM Punk said and still positive after the beat down. Respect.

Fabricio Weirdum defeated Travis Browne for the second time around. Werdum’s flying kick and knee to head highlighted this heavyweight bout apart from Werdum kicking coach Edmond Tarverdyan when the decision was about to announce, caused a slight commotion.

Tonight also, Jimmie Rivera was able to passed the big test that Urijah Faber provided him with. El Terror’s striking was accurate. Rivera even hurt and turned Faber’s leg to red with a vicious kick. The California Kid’s chin was unbelievable though. The decision win could put the man in top 10.

Bonuses went to Stipe Miocic and Alistair Overeem for FOTN. While Jessica Andrade and Yancy Medeiros earned POTN.
