Kevin Ferrer to Ginebra?

Coming off a successful campaign in the Governors’ Cup, the latest champions Barangay Ginebra San Miguel will be on another  quest to try and get another title without their main big man Greg Slaughter who just recently undergone a surgery to repair the tear on his ACL injury that he got in a game during the Governors’ Cup.

Ginebra is on a hunt of a big man to deepen their frontline roster in the Filipino Cup.

Kevin Ferrer, from University of Sto. Tomas  has popped out of the internet recently after being said to be picked by Ginebra in the Gilas Cadet pool. Standing 6 foot 4 this cager is a perfect fit to the Ginebra’s rotation helping out their big men in defending the paint.

The announcement of the Gilas Cadet distribution will be on Sunday just before the regular draft commence and this big man has been already welcomed by the Ginebra fans in the social media.
Though a confirmation has yet to be made this addition to the current frontline roster of Ginebra will definitely open a big chance for them to match up teams with tall frontliners having Jervy Cruz, Japeth Aguilar, Joe Devance , Aljon Mariano, Chris Ellis , Dave Marcelo and Dennice Villamor  in their line up ready to come to the floor and defend that paint.

Barangay Ginebra Rookie Analysis

In the recently held 2015 PBA Rookie draft the Barangay Ginebra San miguel bluntly picked the right people to bring in to the next season. Coach Tim Cone, the country’s number one courtside head of the triangle offense in the professional league is trying to build a roster that will fit the system.

With the team having alot of time to sync in to the system, Cone made the right decision in acquiring the players to perfectly fit the open slots in the line up, it has been reported that Tim already trimmed down the number of guards and obviously wanting to have more wingmen.

Scottie Thompson is one of the promising draftees in the pool and was also christen as the future of ginebra after he was picked, after performing triple-double in games, this rookie will be one of the key players of Ginebra.

Aljon Mariano, also a wingman with rebounding ability and alot of confidence inside the court can bring the angst and toughness.  Being one of the key players of the UST growling tigers, he has consistently shown his skills in rebounding and good shooting touch in the perimeter.

Lee Dennice Villamor, former NU Bulldogs in the UAAP, NU-BDO and Jumbo Plastic Linoleum Giants in the d-league is also a wingman, a player with quality shots beyond the arc and has history of clutch game winning shots. Villamor is one of the all around players in the pool who can bring the ball down, defend, create assists and a very good roleplayer.

With the current additions, the whole barangay ginebra world is excited to see them play with their new Never Say Die spirit acquired the time they got drafted. This will be an exciting season, and the fans of the ballclub wants these three to sign their contracts with the team any time soon to be able to showcase their talents and prove that they deserve the spot that they’re currently on.

Manila, Philippines – The Barangay Ginebra San Miguel who have been vocal about the changes they need in the team and specified that is in need of wingmen and shooters, has finally found a player that will fit the new system, and will definitely play a big role in the new Ginebra campaign.

Lee Dennice Villamor, a San Pablo City, Laguna native who started playing with San Pablo Central school in his primary level and Liceo de San Pablo in his secondary level made his step on the stage of his journey when he entered the collegiate league with the NU Bulldogs and showcased his talent by being one of the best defensive players in the UAAP with a soft touch on the perimeter and superb handling skills.
Villamor has now been drafted in the 3rd round of the 2015  PBA Gatorade Rookie Draft and will be representing the crowd favorite Barangay Ginebra San Miguel. Fans are now excited with this promising addition to the ballclub’s roster. Villamor, who also played for the Jumbo Plastic Giants in the PBA D-League has now reached his dream in becoming in the Professional league and  in a Team with the biggest fan base.
