Blaze Fighting Championship was back for another night of MMA action!

What an exciting Thursday night of action, August 31 at the Resorts World Manila! Impressive ground skills and hard-hitting matches!

Jomar Manlangit took the top spot in the main event against Julbirth Tubiano for the bout at flyweight. Tubiano was able to get the mount in the first round and landed punches but couldn’t get the finish. Manlangit wasted no time in grappling area come second round, taking his opponent to the ground and going for the ground and pound. Tubiano defended it and tried to go back up, but Manlangit took his head locking him in the triangle choke. Manlangit improved to 6-1 with a second round finish.

In the co-main event, John Lloyd Libuit scored several takedowns and tried guillotine attempts to finish. Adonis Sevillano reversed and landed punches until the referee stopped the action in round two.

Marjon Oranda dominated the ground game and was controlling the fight all three rounds. Jason Vergara has his back in the late round and almost sunk in a choke. Oransa absorbed punches. But the time expired to end the fight. Oranda was able to take out a split decision and score a win.

The grappler won over the striker as Paolo Reyes got the unanimous decision over Reynato Renacia putting 1 loss in its perfect 2 win record. Renacia came into the fight to strike, but Reyes controlled the fight everytime they went to the mat.

Blaze Fighting Championship 2: A Rush of Danger Invades Resorts World on August 31st

Jomar Manlangit vs Julbirth Tubiano

The fight scene industry keeps on growing in the Philippines and with these developments, we could be seeing a lot more fighters come out of nowhere and become the next MMA and Boxing superstars.
On August 31, the main event of the first-ever Blaze Fighting Championship in the popular Resorts World, two fighters are looking to make a statement, as one goes for redemption as he will try to recover from his last defeat while putting an end his opponent’s winning streak and the other to continue his blaze of glory and retain his immaculate pro record.

Undefeated with 6 wins as a Pro, Jomar Manlangit is riding on an early MMA success and looks to continue the momentum when he faces former professional boxer Julbirth Tubiano.
Jomar Manlangit who is fighting under Yaw-yan Kampilan and UGB MMA Gym is excited to be headlining the event and want nothing less than to impress the crowd at the Resorts World Manila.
I’m so excited for my fight this coming August 31st @Resorts World Manila. Ang expected ko sa laban ko ay maganda. At ibibigay ko lahat ng makakaya ko para manalo sa laban. Syempre mag bibigay ako ng saya sa mga manonood para sulit ung panonood nila. Hahaha. – Jomar Manlangit
Julbrith Tubiano on the other hand, is a former professional boxer who recently switched to MMA after suffering two defeats in a row. His last two professional boxing match was about 9 months a part and both were defeats, the latest one against Danny Tampipi who is also slated to fight in a boxing match on August 24 under Hardstone and Supremacy Boxing Promotions in Makati.
Tubiano, who compiled a boxing record of  3 wins and 4 losses may have found a new route to his fighting career and had been really active in fighting in MMA lately.  He now have collected an MMA record of 7 wins and 3 losses after actively accepting MMA fights after another. After winning a fight with CYAN MMA Promotions last July 29,  he accepted another match  in just two weeks preparation in which he suffered a defeat in the main event against Jayson Margallo last August 12 at Eruption MMA in Albay.
On August 31, the former boxer will be fighting again and he will be facing a fighter who has not tasted any defeat in his MMA career, a current WMMAL Flyweight Champion and a URCC Fight Farm Series Contender.
Julbirth says:

Ang masasabi ko lang po. Gosto koring manalo salaban at gagawin ko lahat hanggang sakaya nang katawan ko.  At sana   ay maging maganda at maayos ang kalalabasan nang Laban NATO. 🙂

Julbirth Tubiano and Jomar Manlangit are two fighters who came from different beginnings and is now bound to cross paths in one local fight showdown that Pinoy MMA fans should not miss.

Will Jomar continue his undefeated streak to MMA stardom or will Julbirth find redemption and derail Jomar?

On August 31, the answer will be revealed, Rush of Danger at the Resorts World as Blaze Fighting Championship 2 brings you Boxer vs MMA in a cage match on August 31, 2017.

Willie John EE wins the inaugural Predator fight Series – Flyweight Championship!

Image may contain: 4 people

Willie John EE wins the inaugural Predator Flyweight Championship. It was a quick but very exciting fight between Willie John EE of Sucuri MMA  and Kushal Vyas who came all the way from India.

Willie started by throwing several leg kicks but Kushal seemed to be OK as he was trying to look for an opening to land his knockout punch.
The boxer from India, however, didn’t have a chance to set up his knockout blow as he was taken down when he moved closer hoping to land a solid right cross. Willie nicely taken down Kushal and mounted him. Kushahal was on a full guard while Willie trying to soften him up with some ground and pound and while working his way through side control. Kuhsal was able to momentarily get away from the ground and pound as Willie lost the mount position, however, after throwing 3 kicks to the leg he was able to get a knee-on-a belly position that leads him to full mount. Then the rest was history!   Willie John EE wins the first every Predator Flyweight belt by an arm bar!

The future is looking good for this young talented and enthusiastic fighter from Lucena, Quezon. I’m sure the title defense is going to be as exciting as this first flyweight championship fight, or maybe even more exciting! Let’s all wait and see.

Breaking News : UGB MMA expands into Pakistan

Breaking News : UGB MMA expands into Pakistan

UGB MMA is once again making headlines after being the first promotion to be a part of WSOF Global’s affiliate programme.
UGB MMA Championship is now expanding its wings into South Asia and has spread it’s wings into a branch called UGB MMA Pakistan which is also part of WSOF Global’s affiliate programme, which will be led by CEO Ali Sultan and Director Majid Gilani . UGB MMA Pakistan CEO Ali Sultan says, ‘ It is something we have been working on for the longest time to be able to create a promotion in Pakistan which is going to involve fighters from Iran, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka and potentially even India. It is a pleasure to be leading this venture and I’m certain it will help us find the best talent in the country and region. All this would not be possible without the backing of Mr Munsayac and his team’. This could be one of the first major international promotions showing interest in the region.
‘With the backing of WSOF Global especially Mr Hesser, Mr Zachary Harris and Mr Darren Owen launching this has been a success for us. Mr Ferdinand Munsayac(CEO UGB MMA) and I have worked hard for the last couple of months to make it happen and this would not be possible without the guidance of Mr Munsayac, Mr Sultan, Mr Gilani, The PBJJF and my mentor Darren De Silva who has guided me in my young years in promotions.’, says Mr Faizan Fayaz VP of Operations UGB MMA
UGB MMA Championship Pakistan is having their first event this November in the capital city of Islamabad in the winter. The card will feature both local and international fighters. Be sure to catch their event if you’re in town.

Student in the day, Fighter at night

Born in Pakistan, Mehmosh Raza spent much of his childhood between Ireland and England, before returning to Islamabad, Pakistan, where he is currently pursuing a degree at Millennium University.
Training out of Team Fight Fortress Islamabad, he is one of the most elite wrestlers from the team. With sparring partners such as UGB MMA Championship Featherweight Champion Ahmed ‘Wolverine’ Mujtaba and WSOF GLOBAL fighter Uloomi Karim.
Upon being asked how he manages his time this was his reply, ‘ Look, it’s simple. If you are hungry to do something, you can get it done no matter what. For me it’s school in the day, training at night’. With this ‘no excuse ‘ attitude Mehmosh Raza is out to prove his skills on his professional Mixed Martial Arts debut against Filipino prospect (3-1) Jeoray Orao. Despite the opponent being more experienced Mehmosh is determined to spoil Jeoray Orao’s night.

One man, One Mission, Ferdinand Munsayac

One man, One Mission, Ferdinand Munsayac
Throughout his life, Ferdinand Munsayac has always embraced one virtue, ‘Giving Back and Service ‘. In his time in his younger days he contributed to the US Navy and was also at one point a Chief of The US Navy.
After returning to the Philippines, seeing the condition of MMA fighters being underpaid and mistreated, he started Underground Battle Mixed Martial Arts Championship. Having 12 shows in a short span of two years and raisin the pay of amateur fighters and giving them the opportunity to showcase their skills. After gaining some international attention, Ferdie Munsayac went on to attract attention of bigger promotions, thus leading to the the history partnership with World Series Of Fighting Global Championship.
With the successful UGB MMA 13 Foreign Invasion, Ferdie Munsayac hit the hearts of foreign fighters as well. Ahmed Mujtaba, the new UGB MMA Featherweight Champion said, ‘ Papa Goat (Mr Munsayac)  is just like a father to me and all the other fighters. He respects us and unlike other shows there is no such such thing as hierarchy. Where the CEO is an untouchable, or a man of higher stature. All of us fighters look at Mr Munsayac as a father or elder brother. Long Live Papa Goat and UGB MMA Championship! ‘. Mr Munsayac’s colleague, the match maker at UGB MMA Championship, Faizan Fayaz mentioned,’ This man is essentially the God father of Mixed Martial Arts in the Philippines. Goes out of his way to give the fighters and fans a good show. Unlike other CEOs who are considered to be purely businessmen, Ferdie Munsayac is a man who the fans know as a friend and always keeps the crowd engaged. With great stories of his past to tell Mr. Munsayac is a friend to us all and a blessing in disguise to Filipino MMA ‘.
With UGB MMA Championship growing faster by the day. The region will one day realise how far this man is raising the level of fighters in the country by having them compete against foreign fighters. His quote’ Para Sa Fighters Dahil Sa Fighters ‘ will be what other promoters would soon follow.

UGB 13 MMA/ WSOF: Robinson, Karim and Mujtaba Invaded and Won the UGB Inaugural Championship Belts

UGB MMA/ WSOF: Foreign Invasion 1

As the title stated, it was indeed foreign invasion as fighters from US and Pakistan defeated their Filipino opponents in emphatic fashion to win the inaugural UGB Championship belts in their respective weight classes. It was a night of exhilarating action as fighters demonstrated their wares in front of WSOF VP for Operations Jason Lilly and UGB Founder Ferdie Munsayac with hope to get noticed, improve their rating as MMA fighters and get a chance to fight for the belt.
The first of the foreign combatants who fought for the belt was Uloomi Karim from Pakistan. He outclassed Michael Mondragon of Catalan Fighting System Philippines and won the Bantamweight title.
Uloomi Karim from Pakistan
Another Pakistani fighter who broke Filipino hearts by easily putting Rodian Menchavez to sleep with a rear naked choke is Amhed Mujtaba. From the get go Amhed was aggressive and attacked Menchavez, Mujtaba quickly turned the fight to a grappling match.
Ahmed together with his compatriot walked out of the cage as the inaugural champ.
Amhed Mujtaba
The last hope of Pinoys to defend the motherland was on the shoulder of Mark Palomar of Hyper MMA. At first, the fight was back and forth. Brad Robinson was very tactical while Palomar tried many times to impose his power. We thought that Mark Palomar had multiple opportunities to finish the fight but he had failed to follow up after hitting Robinson with a solid punch. The right hand was all Palomar had going last night while Robinson had the perfect plan by not engaging with Palomar and eventually take him to the ground. Robinson ended the fight by submitting the evidently exhausted Palomar winning the inaugural Middleweight championship.

Overall the event was a rousing success even after some hurdles and last minute changes.
Founder of UGB Ferdie Munsayac was visible and was very hands on during the event as he personally ensured that all went well. Munsayac on his 13th UGB event: “This is probably the best event so far and we promise to do better and give the fans the excitement as well as something new in the local MMA industry. Our partnership with WSOF will not only help us achieve our goals but ensure that we do it consistently. This year, we plan to help more fighters and to do more events.”

Brad has fought in other international promotion obviously, he has an edge in terms of international fighting experience but of course our very own Mark Palomar won’t just stand there and be moving punching bag.

*Could you let us know your thoughts on the main event?

# IF IT STAYS AT STAND-UP, MARK HAS THE EDGE. IF IT GOES TO THE GROUND, BRAD IS THE MAN!

Aside from the main event, of course,  the rest of the fights are also interesting.
