Shawn “The Fearless” Labisores goes full throttle in motocross sports

In one of the world’s most dangerous sports, it takes a lot of guts, courage, and hard work to attain such discipline in the world of motor sports. Just like this young lad from Ozamiz City. He makes sure that in every competition he is at; he always gives his best and doesn’t forget to thank God for all of his accomplishments.
Born Shawn Labisores on July 17, 1999 in Ozamiz City, this 6-foot-1 motocross rider and basketball player is currently studying at Misamis University.
Shawn started motocross when he went to Manila and was taught by his good friend. “I joined some tournaments and in my first ride, I was so nervous but then, I won third place in that competition”, quipped Shawn.
“I find motocross a very thrilling sport. I know it’s a dangerous sports but I really feel the excitement especially if my motor flies in midair. It’s an ecstatic feeling”, added Shawn.
Yung pinakamahirap sa motocross talaga yung kapag ma-ulan kasi sobrang dulas kapag umuulan at yung pinakamasarap sa motocross yung pinapalipad mo yung motor mo at ang daming mong fans lalo na kapang nananalo ka. Yun talaga ang pinaka maganda sa lahat”, said Shawn.
Aside from motocross, his other hobby is basketball. He became a varsity player for University of Perpetual Help in  Las Pinas City.  His ambition in my life is to be the number 1 motocross rider and become a PBA player someday.

James Christopher ‘Prince of Speed’ Barcial elevates road racing to greater heights

By: Paolo Manuel C. Fule

In one of the world’s most dangerous sports, it takes a lot of guts, courage, and hard work to attain such discipline in the world of motor sports. Fear and quitting is not in the vocabulary of 21-year-old road racing circuit rider and pride of Balagtas, Bulacan James Christopher D. Barcial. He makes sure that in every competition, he always gives his best and doesn’t forget to thank God for all of his accomplishments.
Born on August 3, 1994, the 5-foot-6 motor sports athlete started in his sports at the tender age of 6. His father, Jaime Barcial, taught him the ways of motocross. The young rider has already won several titles and competitions in this sport.
Some of the achievements tucked under his belt include 2008 Underbone King champion, 115 Super Stock Under bone champion, 2009 Underbone King 115 open category, 2011 160cc Open Runner Up, 2012 Under bone King, 2012 160cc Scooter champion, 2012 IRGP Automatic champion, 2013 IRGP Advance 180cc champion, 2013 180cc Scooter 1st Runner Up, and 2014 IRGP Champion in the 160 and 180cc categories.
He recently won in the Inside Racing Grand Prix or IRGP motocross competition held at Carmona, Cavite last November. He is currently studying as a 3rd year Information Technology student at STI Balagtas. At 21, the promise of a great career is on the way. With nerves of steel and unmatched talent, he took the risk and overcame the challenges that were ahead. “This is a dangerous sport, but it really needs practice and right condition of mind and body so that you may know what to do during the game”, said James. His idol in road racing is Valentino Rossi. “He is the best for me because he is the rider who, even though he had several world champions, he is still humble unlike others”, quipped James.
Motocross is a form of motorcycle racing held on enclosed off-road circuits. The sport evolved from motorcycle trials competitions held in the United Kingdom. Motocross is a physically demanding sport held in all-weather conditions. “I chose this sport because all of my family is in the racing industry. I also learned to love this career” said James Christopher.

With determination and perseverance, this young athlete can achieve greater heights and carve a niche in the world of professional motocross in the near future. The fast-paced world of motocross riding can be one of the most dangerous sports in the world, yet despite this hard, cold fact, this young athlete remains resilient and brave on the race track of life. Indeed, only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly.
