Watch: Canelo’s Message to his Next Opponent, GGG

Before the Canelo-Chavez fight took place, there was a lot of mocking and smack talking between this two great Mexican boxers as to who will be crowned as the newest king of Mexican Boxing in their annual Cinco de Mayo boxing tradition.

However, Canelo said in an interview that he never felt any hatred against his current contender Julio Chavez Jr because he took it as an extra motivation to show that he can box, he can move and he wanted to prove he can also do anything that a bigger and stronger boxer can do. He demonstrated this when he defeated Chavez Jr via unanimous decision. He also said that he is a bit disappointed on how Chavez Jr performed during their last match because he didn’t meet Canelo’s expectation at all and it’s not something to be considered as great and historic fight.

I’ve never feared anyone, since I was 16 fighting as a professional. When I was born, fear was gone…” Canelo states in an interview when asked about what can he say to those people who criticized him for not considering Golovkin to become his opponent for the longest time.

During an interview after his fight against Chavez Jr, Canelo finally announced that his next boxing fight will be with Gennady Golovkin, commonly known as the “Triple G”. Golovkin and Canelo are both excited with their bout this upcoming September. They say that to be able to beat Golovkin, Canelo needs to exert extra effort and show everything that the public haven’t seen yet. Though Canelo explains that he’s already working on that and he stated he getting better and better every day and the rival between Golovkin will be the way to show what he has to offer.

The said bout will become the Biggest Mexican Showdown in the history.
