The YOUNGEST CHAMP in ASIA! check out raw footage.

The new! and the youngest Flyweight Champion in Asia! CJ “Golden Boy” De Tomas!!

All the pain and hardworks have finally paid off for the 19yr old CJ De Tomas who convincingly claimed the URCC Flyweight Belt.

The icing on the cake was the fact that he avenged his father’s lost to the same opponent his father fought some years ago.

It has been a showcase of ground fighting between CJ De Tomas and Hideo Morikawa.
CJ De Tomas is known for being a well rounded fighter or i must say one of the few complete pinoy fighters. In this fight he showcased his wrestling and Jiu-Jitsu skills as he was able to slam Morikawa and most of all defend the infamous leg lock!

In this video CJ mentioned that he was surprised with his cardio and with his Family around especially his dad he didn’t feel tired every round which he said is necessary because fighting Morikawa is like fighting a zombie, he recovers really fast so you really gonna have to take it easy and maintain the energy level. The Champ also thank his teammate who’s been very instrumental to successful leg lock defense.

Sindikato meets Samurai! raw video footage!

Coming into the fight the BEEF was on between Alvin “Sindikato” Ramirez and Carlo “Samurai” Laurel.
As expected Carlo Laurel of “Ronin Ju-Jitsu” tried to end the fight by away submission. There were many attempts
and scrambling all throughout the heated match up.
Carlo ended the first round in advantageous position wherein he had an opportunity to execute kneebar or hill hook but he ran out of time.
“Sindikato” Ramirez came in prepared against the “Samurai” Laurel. As a fighter from Yaw-Yan Buhawi Ramirez is known for  striking but in this fight he has shown that he can absolutely do well on the ground too.

Ramirez unloaded several punches and kicks but i’m not sure which of those caused the bad cut but I thought the roundhouse kick contributed to the damage.

The heated match up ended in the 3rd round by a doctor’s stoppage; TKO victory in favor of Alvin Ramirez.
Check out the raw ringside videos here!

"I AM NOT RETIRED" – Conor McGregor

Image result for mcgregor not retired

The  World of Combat Sports was shocked the passed Tuesday after Connor “The Notorious” McGregor  announced his young retirement via tweeter.

The retirement tweeet holds the record of most retweeted post.  A lot of stipulations and rumors came out but it wasn’t confirmed until UFC President Dana White announced that UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor was pulled from the main event of UFC 200 which is set to take place  on July 9 in Las Vegas.

The GREAT NEWS however is that   Conor McGregor is still willing to show up and FIGHT!

In his latest statement which can be found on facebook “ The Notorious” says that he is “Not retired” and willing to show up and fight but under few conditions.

Check out the latest post below:

incorrect fight preparation. And the many distractions that led to this.
Nothing else was going through my mind.
It is time to go back and live the life that got me this life.
Sitting in a car on the way to some dump in Conneticut or somewhere, to speak to Tim and Suzie on the nobody gives a fuck morning show did not get me this life.
Talking to some lady that deep down doesn’t give a fuck about what I’m doing, but just wants some sound bites so she can maybe get her little tight ass a nice raise, and I’m cool with that too, I’ve been giving you all raises. But I need to focus on me now.
I’m coming for my revenge here.
I flew an entire team to Portugal and to Iceland to make my adjustments in preparation and fix my errors I made with the weight and the cardio prep.
With the right adjustments and the right focus, I will finish what I started in that last fight.
I will not do this if I am back on the road handing out flyers again.
I will always play the game and play it better than anybody, but just for this one, where I am coming off a loss, I asked for some leeway where I can just train and focus. I did not shut down all media requests. I simply wanted a slight adjustment.
But it was denied.
There had been 10 million dollars allocated for the promotion of this event is what they told me.
So as a gesture of good will, I went and not only saved that 10 million dollars in promotion money, I then went and tripled it for them.
And all with one tweet.
Keep that 10 mill to promote the other bums that need it. My shows are good.
I must isolate myself now.
I am facing a taller, longer and heavier man. I need to prepare correctly this time.
I can not dance for you this time.
It is time for the other monkeys to dance. I’ve danced us all the way here.
Nate’s little mush head looks good up on that stage these days. Stuff him in front of the camera for it.
He came in with no shit to do that last one. I’d already done press conferences, interviews and shot the ads before RDA pulled out.
Maybe I’ll hit Cabo this time and skull some shots pre-fight with no obligation.
I’m doing what I need for me now.
It is time to be selfish with my training again. It is the only way.
I feel the $400million I have generated for the company in my last three events, all inside 8 months, is enough to get me this slight leeway.
I am still ready to go for UFC 200.
I will offer, like I already did, to fly to New York for the big press conference that was scheduled, and then I will go back into training. With no distractions.
If this is not enough or they feel I have not deserved to sit this promotion run out this one time, well then I don’t know what to say.
For the record also –
For USADA and for the UFC and my contract stipulations –
I AM NOT RETIRED.

Irish Ninja vs American Ninja!

The much anticipated title bout between the reigning welterweight champion Rafael Dos Anjos vs Connor McGregor was forced to be canceled due to foot injury that Dos Anjos suffered during the last stage of his preparation for UFC 196.

As expected “Cowboy” Cerrone and his camp were quick to express their willingness to take the fight at a short notice. Donald “Cowboy “Cerrone who just came from a 1st round submission victory is known for taking and winning a short notice fights.
Another good named came out, the former welterweight champ, Showtime Pettis! This would have been an epic stand up fight had this fight pushed through.
Now!! Looks like the fan made promo video made an impact “somehow” to make it official!Nate Diaz vs Connor McGregor was officially announced by Dana White himself Tuesday evening!
The ultimate fighter winner vs the current featherweight champion. Both are good in stand up and can definitely jujitsu their way off victory!

As Nate Diaz once said, American Ninja vs Irish Ninja! Who you got?

This fight was a PRO-AM meaning amateur rules but no head gear.  Recillo came in with 5-0 record while Servancia has 2-1. First round was exciting as expected, trading punches and some grappling. This fight would have been a candidate for fight of the night had Servancia did not injure his wrist. Since the Sikaran fighter can no longer fight in the 2nd round, Recillo was announced as the winner and he got his 6th victory.
Match No 13
Carlo Nino Arteza BEAR’S CAVE MMA BATANGAS CITY vs FERDINAND PATES of TEAM SPRAWL QC

Match No.15
Jonar Cruz of XTREME BOXING GYM QC vs John Vincent Miraflor of HYBRID YAW-YAN QC
In this exciting fight the PRO-MMA rule was applied.
This is one is a legit contender for “Fight of the night” award. Jonar Cruz landed some solid punches while Mirflor’s focus was to take the fight to the ground. Miraflor almost pulled off a kimura in the first round however Cruz managed to escape. Miraflor was awarded with Unanimous decision.
Match No. 16
Manspreet Signh Insan of BUDO KAI DO MMA PUNJAB INDIA vs Jued Castillo of MAICS GYM MARIKINA
This fight ended quickly. Two warriors traded punches and the intense situation didn’t go well for the Indian fighter. Ref has to stopped the fight when Insan fell on the canvas and was in pain!i according to the medic it looks like he torn some ligaments on his right chest.
Match 17
Gagandeep Sharma of BUDO KAI DO MMA vs Ehsan Mousaei of TEAM IRAN
This was an interesting fight because from what I’ve heard there’s really a BEEF going on between the two camps. It was indeed personal, the Indian fighter; Sharma won’t even touch gloves and he looks very eager to hurt his Iranian opponent. Sharma was the first one to attack, theyboth fell on the ground, and scrambling then all of a sudden the ref stopped the fight. Sharma had to tap. Mousaei won via 1st round tap out. No congratulatory hand shake as expected.
Match 18

This would have been an interesting fight however, since her opponent Harpeet Kaur failed to show up Irish Condrado won via default.
Match 19
Teddy Marie Dela Cruz of SPARTACUS GYM vs Sahara Hamayon of MUSCAT MMA GYM
I’m sure ya’ll have heard of the saying “Don’t judge the book by its cover” this is certainly the case here.
Teddy Marie looks out of shape. You’d never thought she could fight. As early as first round Teddy Marie has been landing punches and Sahara couldn’t do nothing about it. Teddy Marie’s punching form is far better and her accuracy was impressive too. 2nd round was pretty much the same story but here Sahara made some attempts to take Teddy Marie down but she failed. Teddy Marie just kept connecting and Sahara’s face started swelling and finished the 2nd round with bloody nose. 3rd round, Sahara again trying to take her down but the problem was she’s not doing anything to protect her face. She’s putting pressure and absorb the punches until finally on the dying seconds she took Teddy Marie down, she was on her way securing the full mount when the bell rang. Teddy Marie won via unanimous decision.
Match 20
Vishal Sharma BUDOKAIDO MMA vs Bobby Besuna BUMAG MAKATI
The main event of the evening ended quickly!
Sharma and Besuna started with trading punches, went to the ground, then Sharma choked the lights out of Besuna.  Besuna also had a bloody nose. The height difference and reach advantage must have been the key factors. Sharman stands at 5’11 and with a longer reach while Besuna is only is 5’6 tall.
Sharma also won the “ Best Submission “ award.

Balikatan “Heart of warrior” results

It has been an action packed night inside the Markina Sports complex. . Baliktan 14 was scheduled to have 20 fights in one night (however 1 foreign fighters didn’t make it) Just like previous edition, the 14th Balikatan “Heart of warrior” was definitely worth watching!
Despite the last minute changes and delay (Props to the UGB owner Fredi Munsayac for helping out during the crunch time) it has been indeed a night that combat sports enthusiast didn’t want to miss!
Match No. 1
First match was a Kickboxing fight between Dick Lopez of SPARTACUS GYM, QC and Sandip Talwar of YAW-YAN BATANGAS CITY.

Dick Lopez landed some solid straight punches but couldn’t capitalize the opportunity because of the nonstop movements of Sandip Talwer who loves to throw A LOT of spinning back fist. I personally asked Dick about this thoughts on the fight, he said he couldn’t set up his kicks because of Sandip movements and the tons of spinning back fist he’s been throwing all throughout the fight. – The result was a Draw

Match No.2
Edrion Macatangay of HIGHER GROUND vs Arden Vallejo of TEAM FREE STYLE.
It was a quick match between the 2 warrios. Arden Vallejo was able to slam Edrion however, ironically the Taekwondo based fighter pulled off a successful rear naked choke inside the first round. –  Edrion Macatangay got a quick W by a rear naked choke.

Saison successfully did a leg trip take down in the first round then finished the 3rd round via submission win

Match No.9
Keith Brian Lasqiote of SAMSON COLLEGE MMA QC vs Eric Heinz Llagas YAW-YAN KAMPILAN MAKATIThis fight won the “Best Fight of the Night” award!
Lasquite showcased his impressive footwork as he went in and out Llagas of course returned the favor.
The fight was indeed a quality and entertaining fight, from stand up to ground both warriors gave it all!Lasquitte and his sneaky footwork caused Llagas a bloody nose in the 2nd round and in the 3rd Lasquitte’s fighting style seemed to back fired as he ran out of gas, unlike the in the first round where Llags can barely land solid striking, Lasquitte slowd down and looks exhausted and Llagas then took him down and finished the exciting fight via ground and pound!
Match 10
Reynold Vargas of UNITED SIKARAN ALLIANCE BARAS, RIZAL vs RYAN CANATA YAW-YAN MAC MARIKINA

It’s somewhat “Controversial “fight.  Canata was initially announced as the winner however Master Henry Kobayashi himself announced that it should have been a split draw instead of split decision in favor of Canata. The announcement came in after they reviewed and found out that the 3rd judge scored the fight as a draw.

#EXPLOSIVE, EXCITING & DEFINITELY ENTERTAINING HAVING THE BEST OF THE PINOYS DEFEND THEIR STRONGHOLD AGAINST THE FOREIGNERS!!

Here are some of the highlights from the previous shows:

"Satisfy your MMA fantasy"

Have you ever dreamed of running your own Mix Martial Arts company?

I have always wanted to be a fighter, trainer, gym owner, scout and manager all at the same-time.

In real life you cant do them all obviously but if you want to satisfy you MMA fantasy,  then i would recommend this sports strategy game called “MMA manager”.

The fighting aspect of the game is very limited because it only shows live text  commentary and you have no control over the fights movement.

The main objective of the game is to take your MMA Federations to the top and  dominate the MMA world.

For you to do that you must  first hire the best fighters available and book exciting matches for the people.

Picture yourself playing the role of Fertitta brothers and Dana white.

You will be responsible for just about everything, from scouting report, contract negotiation, match making,  choosing the venue, creating hype, ticket pricing  to TV rating and Pay Per View.

It would have been more exciting though if you have the option to edit the organisation’s name and  especially the rules.

I would have made it more exciting like URCC where majority of the fighting results are “non decision “

URCC matches consist of  only 2 rounds, each round will last 10 minutes and additional of 5 minute round in case it is  necessary for title bouts.

Aside from having world class fighters. URCC’s distinct  rules make the league a lot more exciting to watch because as early as first round you can already determine the winner either by KO or submission or stoppage.

ABOUT URCC – The Universal Reality Combat Championship is Southeast Asia’s first professional mixed martial arts tournament. We held our first mainstream event in 2002 in front of a sold–out crowd at the Casino Filipino. Ever since 2002, we have always sold out all of our events. The URCC is often referred to as “ASIA’s MOST EXCITING MMA LEAGUE”. This is due to the fact that the league has the highest rates of finishes in the region. Our fighters ALWAYS come to FIGHT!

hypothetical match up

As we all know, Demetrius “The Mighty Mouse” Johnson  successfully defended his belt against John Dodson last Sunday.
Johnson is tied with Jose Aldo with 7 consecutive title defenses. I believe next in line should be the winner between Henry Cejudo and Jussier  Formiga.
Demetrius Johnson the no. 3 “Pound per Pound” champion has fought and won against the high ranking fighters in the flyweight division.
The number 1 and 2 contenders John Dodson and Joseph Benavidez, who happens to be his teammates tried to snatch the belt away but Johnson is simply too much for them.
Now, out of curiosity I was wondering? Flyweight is a natural division for most of our local fighters or Asians fighters in general.
What do you think would be the result if Demetrius Johnson fights one our home grown flyweight fighters?
Obviously, this is just a fantasy match up but who knows?  This fantasy fight could become reality in the near future. I am sure it is bound to happen in the near future.
If I’m going to have to pick a home grown fighter, maybe I would pick someone from the longest running MMA promotion in Asia; Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC).
At the present time, the first choice would be the current Flyweight champ Hideo Morikawa who’s on a 4th winning streak and recently claimed the URCC Flyweight belt last July at Fontana Convention hall in Pampanga.
The URCC veteran with a record of 8-3 is considered as “home grown fighter” even though he is Japanese national.
Hideo Morikawa is known for being durable and tough, it would be really exciting see him fight against the world flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson, this may not happen in real life but this hypothetical match up looks interesting!

Test the water

For all aspiring URCC fighters out there! you might wanna check this out!

If you love combat sports to the point where you wanna try it out yourself.

Well, first of all you must spend considerable amount of time in training, otherwise forget about your interest in competing.

Now assuming you’ve done the first step .You have instilled self discipline and gone through serious training.

The next logical step should be, to “test the water”  and the prefect way to do that is to join Amateur Fighting Championship.

Before a fighter get to the next level , a recognized amateur background will always be helpful, not just for the benefit of exposure but also to see if they are even good enough to be a pro fighter.

I mean, come on!  you don’t wanna join Ultimate Reality Combat championship and fight world class fighter with mediocre skill level.

URCC has the highest finishes rates in the region, and I am sure that no fighter would ever want to be part of the highlights on the losing end.

a-a YAW-YAN! (he’ll quit!!)

Check out these highlights from “Hybrid Yaw-Yan fighters”
This 5min video clip shows several highlights from different weigh classes of Hybrid Yaw-Yan fighters
Yaw-Yan,  also known as “Dance of Death” is a complete Filipino martial art which is definitely a  good option for an aspiring MMA fighter.
This art form is consist of different elements of striking, grappling stick and knife fighting.
In the world of MMA, a professional Hybrid Yaw-Yan fighter is a well-rounded fighter, he can win or survive ground or stand up fighting, video shows how good they are on both areas.
I personally like this martial art style however I noticed that it doesn’t emphasis much on a specific discipline. Could it mean a disadvantage?
Let’s say a Yaw-Yan fighter is up against high level jujitsu fighter?
Or could it mean an advantage being said that Yaw-Yan fighter is well a rounded individual?
I did al lil’ bit of taekwondo, boxing and very little jujitsu but I’m NO expert!
I could be wrong by saying that this martial arts style doesn’t emphasis much on a specific discipline. If you are an expert I would love to hear your thoughts on this?
But one thing that I’m sure of, it is that there are a lot of great hybrid yaw-Yan fighters in the URCC winning by KO, submission or stoppage .

This is when you’d get that expression ” aaYAW-YAN”  towards the opponent.

In our very own MMA league (URCC) is where we can witness how our very own martial art style (YAW-YAN) will do against other types of martial arts.

Natural Born Fighters meet the Baddest Man in Manila

URCC Manila, Alvin Aguilar
Alvin Aguilar, Streets of Manila

Filipinos are known for hospitality and Adaptability.  What the rest of world probably doesn’t know is that, Filipinos are “natural born fighters”.

Well, the fighting history is well documented; Started from Spanish colonization to American and Japanese invasion.
Wow! Can you freakin’ imagine how long has it been?
Without a doubt fighting runs in our blood. In fact, for many different reasons (which mostly are none sense) street fighting were so prevalent in various places back in the 90’s.
Thanks to the “ Baddest Man in Manila “ and his partners for founding ” Universal Reality Combat Championship”

The first ever MMA league in the  South East Asian region.
For more than a decade now,  URRCC has been providing a platform for people who have a passion for martial arts, and of course for our “natural born fighter “countrymen.

Unlike street fighting and underground fighting, URCC gives an opportunity to our “Natural Born Fighters “to further develop their skills in the safest and most prominent way possible.

Moreover it gives them an opportunity to somehow make a living out of their fighting passion plus the opportunity to earn “respect out of greatness” instead of fear.

Isn’t it cool to earn respect and admiration out of your greatness?
