Cebu City – The University of Visayas Green Lancers outlasted 10 other teams from Cebu, Bohol, Dumaguete and Roxas City to become the kings of 3-on-3 basketball in the recently concluded 2017 PCCL-National Collegiate Championship 3×3 Visayas leg at the University of San Carlos Gym.
UV players Jerome Napao, JosueSegumpan Jr., Jan MonicSoliva and Rey Anthony Suerte went undefeated in the elimination and playoff round before facing University of San Juan – RecoletosJarguars in the finals.
Segumpan carried the Green Lancers’ scoring load by scoring 24 points while Suerte added 13 points to pin down USJ-R, 47-43.
Jaybie Mantilla of the Jaguars had a commendable performance with 27 points as his team took home the 1st runner-up honors.
The University of Cebu Webmasters was given the 2nd runner-up position after placing above Philippine Maritime Institute – Bohol in the quotient system.
Other teams that participated in the tournament were the Don Bosco Technical College – Cebu, Hercore College, CESAFI- Southwestern College, Cebu Eastern College, University of Cebu, Salazar Institute of Technology and Foundation University of Dumaguete.
