Loreto down in the 8th round. Not an easy fight for the champ who had to battle through a closed left eye and a determined opponent. The Thai’s bodypunching and jab proved the difference as he built up a lead and held off Loreto’s late surge. The knockdown was particularly unfortunate for Loreto who was winning the round but was caught off balance and felled by a right hook.
Niyomtrong goes 16 wins 7 via knockouts with no defeat while Loreto slipped to 23 wins with 13 defeats.
