Nietes dominates Nantapech to bag IBF Title; Magsayo and Santisima pick up wins!

Donnie “Ahas” Nietes made another history after he defeated Komgrich Nantapech of Thailand to bag IBF World Flyweight Title to became three divsion world champion at Cebu Water Front Hotel and Casino on the main event of “Pinoy Pride 40: Domination”
Nietes (40-1-4,22) who previously held the WBO 105 and 108 pounds world titles showcased his boxing skills Saturday night when he fought Komgrich Nantapech (22-3,15). Donnie Nietes connected on Nantapech with good uppercuts and over hand punches in the first half of the fight but the Thai boxer who is much younger was determined and didn’t mind Nietes power punches as he continued to chase Nietes with his aggressive style. Both boxers exchanged combinations in the following rounds but Nietes seems had the edge. Nietes gave it all in the championship rounds by throwing flurry of punches but the solid built Thai was not hurt at all. After the fight three judges saw it 117-111, 117-111 and 115-113 all in favor for Filipino longest reigning world champion Donnie Nietes.
In the co main event ALA top prospect Mark “Magnifico” Magsayo (16-0,12) easily dispatched Tanzanian visitor Issa Nempepeche (24-8-4,11) by stopping the Tanzanian at 2:05 of the very first round.
Another ALA boxer Jeo Santisima (13-2-0, 11KOs) dropped Indonesian Master Suro (11-9-1, 2KOs) in the sixth round to earned a shutout 10 rounds unanimous decision with all three judges gave all the rounds to Santisima, 100-89.
