The WBO has ordered an WBO World title eliminator bout between No. 1 ranked Arthur Villanueva of the Philippines and Zolani Tete of South Africa. WBO president Francisco ‘Paco’ Valcarcel immediately ordered Tete’s promoter Frank Warren , to immediately begin negotiations with Villanueva’s promoter ALA Promotions.
“King” Arthur Villanueva (30-1-0, 16KOs) is the current WBO Asia Pacific Bantamweight title and came from sensational second round knockout win over rival Mexican Juan Jimenez. Villanueva’s only setback was came from controversial 10th round technical decision lost to Mcjoe Arroyo where they fought for the vacant IBF World Superflyweight title.
Zolani “Last Born” Tete (24-3-0, 20KOs), a former IBF super flyweight world champion and  the current IBF International bantamweight champion. He won the IBF world title with unanimous decision win over Teiru Konoshita in 2014 and defended it once against Paul Butler after he decided to vacate the title.
Zolani Tete was willing to fight in England or Philippines and the fight is possibly in December if both parties agreed to terms. Whoever wins the fight will fight the winner of WBO World Championship fight between the champion Filipino Marlon Tapales and Japanese Takuma Inoue on December 30 in Yokohama Japan.
