Two times world title challenger Milan “El Metodico” Melindo of ALA Promotions who will fight for another title eliminator in May under Donnie Nietes-Raul Garcia WBO World Light flyweight title fight in Bacolod City told us that rematch with Mexican Javier “Cobra” Mendoza is not done yet.
Yesterday at the 16th Gabriel Flash Elorde Awards, Melindo said “The fight is still under negotiation and not done yet” When we asked him if he is ready to face Mendoza again in Mexico, Melindo told us “Boxing is politics. Sa Mexico kelangan talaga ng Knock out para manalo, yung laban namin controversial kase galing sa suntok yung sugat nya at naka-Knockdown ako pero di binilangan,gusto ko talaga sa Pinas sa undercard kay Donnie sa Bacolod”
Melindo added that he already seen the fight of Akira Yaegashi and he is ready to face the IBF Japanese champion.
Melindo receives the major awards as the International Champion in flyweight division and WBC medal yesterday in 16th Gabriel “Flash” Elorde Boxing Awards.
