Doug McDermott With A Fadeaway Winning Shot

Who’s Doug McDermott?
Position: Small Forward
Height/Weight: 6-8 / 218
College: Creighton
2014 Round 1: Pick 11 Drafted By: Denver Nuggets (traded to Chicago Bulls)

He played at Creighton Coached by his father, Greg, Doug McDermott averaged 26.7 points while winning NCAA National Player of the Year honors as a senior. He became only the eighth player in NCAA history to score 3,000 points and 1,000 rebounds in a career with 135 games in double figures is also an NCAA record.

Others think that McDermott was just an ordinary player and poor defense but when I look at his record its amazing he can become a better player that can play in different way. Nice trade from the Bulls big key addition.

While I’m browsing about Doug this what I found some comments from:

Coach Tom Thibodeau worked with McDermott last summer with USA Basketball.

“If you view him as strictly a shooter, you’re not casting the proper light on him,” Thibodeau said. “He’s a lot more than that. We think he’s a complete player. We think he’s capable of playing very good defense.”

“I knew watching that game that I was the perfect fit for them,” McDermott said. “I think I can bring so much. With D-Rose coming back, I can play off him so well because he draws so much attention.”
“But I feel that I’ve shown I can play with these athletes,I can play against longer defenders; I’m starting to prove people wrong.”

McDermott already has the college connection with fellow Creighton product and former Bull Kyle Korver, whom he joked he outjumped in the vertical test at the combine.
