A wedding is a time for celebration, so Lala Vasquez and Carmelo Anthony must have been shocked to hear booing at their reception yesterday.
The MTV host bride and NBA superstar groom weren’t the recipients of the ill-will – it was their guest, basketball player Lebron James.
King James, as he’s proclaimed himself, has caused widespread public outrage by defecting from his home town team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, to the Miami Heat.
His choice featured in the 75 minute reality TV special The Decision, which was branded ‘obnoxious’ and ‘patronising’.
James was greeted by a round of loud boos from angry New Yorkers as he arrived with his girlfriend Savannah Brinson.
Luckily MTV host Lala, 30, had a much warmed reception as she wed Anthony, 26, yesterday at Cipriani’s in New York after a five year engagement.
