"Technician" Miguel Berchelt decisions Miura to retain WBC title

                       

The Forum Inglewood California- WBC World Super featherweight champion Mexican Miguel “El Alacran” Berchelt outboxed and outclassed former champion Takashi Miura of Japan to defend his title via 12 rounds unanimous decision. The scores were 116-111, 119-108, 120-109.

Boxing fans were expecting to see a war between two aggressive boxer but then the champion Berchelt chose to be a technician boxer instead to control the fight against heavy handed challenger. Berchelt was on the run throughout the fight but effectively and constantly landed jabs and combinations to Miura. The Japanese challenger occasionally landed hooks or cross but never throws a significant combinations that could hurt the champion, In the late rounds Miura , sensing that  he was outscored by Berchelt he despirately throws wild hooks and cross and tried to score a miraculous win but Berchelt was too quick to dodge the big punches. 
After Berchelt’s win a title unification fight card with WBA champion Jezreel Corrales who also defended his title in the same fight is possible.
