By: Paolo Manuel C. Fule

It takes a lot of guts, courage, and hard work to attain such discipline in the world of sports like basketball. But this guy from Western Visayas has more to offer in his home in Manila with the Lyceum of the Philippines Pirates.
Born Spencer Pretta on September 14, 1997 to Mr. Colton Pretta and Ms. Lowela Pretta, this 5-foot-10 cager who hails from Bacolod City was once a member of the 2014 Palarong Pambansa West Visayas team held in Laguna and is now playing for the Pirates. He is currently studying Business Management.

He scored his career high of 44 points in the PRISAA basketball tournament. In the NCAA, his career high is 19 points. His favorite shot is the 3-pointer. His pre-game ritual includes bonding with his teammates and prayers before and after every game.

“I make sure that after every training, I attend classes in the afternoon. I want to become a professional player someday”, said Spencer. In pursuing his basketball dreams, he makes sure to take things step by step because he believes that these little steps will make a big impact on things that he has always been working for. He acknowledges that staying humble is also a key to one’s success in life.
