Sportsmanship

The night was set. Two warriors waited a long time to settle their differences in combat inside the ring. The animosity between Alvin Ramirez and Carlo Laurel was intense and can be felt by those around them. I am not sure how their conflict started, but one thing is for sure; It is personal.

The crowd roared as both men started exchanging punches and kicks while taunting each other. You can already tell that this was going to be messy.

The fight resulted with bloody faces as both fighters continue their onslaught against each other.

It was quite obvious that both fighters were out for blood. Carlo was dominating the match by making use of his throwing and ground fighting skills but Ramirez was pulverising with his striking abilities. Finally the referrer called a stoppage to the fight, declaring Alvin Ramirez as the victor. I held my breath as to how Carlo would react. To my surprise, Carlo walked up to Alvin and bowed his head humbly, acknowledging Alvin to be the winner. What got even more to me was the fact that the two combatants who were previously was after each other’s throat hugged each other after the fight. It was over. Whatever transpired between in the past was all behind them. Only one got the prize, but I consider both men as victors because of the lessons they learned. Not just in the fight, but after whatever it is they have been through. Both men earned my respect. Osss!
