What did Coach Popovich do again? should he be punish?

Go tell  Tim, Manu and Danny to pack up and rest,  your not playing against the Heat.

Star less Spurs almost put out the Heat! No one could questions Popovich coaching strategy, well not unless you are the league commissioner. But why? Coach Popovich don’t think that the Heat is the real treat because he decided to let his stars rest in preparation for the Grizzlies game. which is he believe is a greater challenge. This did not sit well with the commissioner. 

NBA commissioner David Stern vowed to punish the San Antonio Spurs for sending Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili and Danny Green home early rather than playing in Miami. But despite being under man, the Spurs put up a good game and nearly beat the Heat.

Commish Stern Said.

“I apologize to all NBA fans,” Stern said in a statement. “This was an unacceptable decision by the San Antonio Spurs and substantial sanctions will be forthcoming.”

Coach Popovich Said:

“Everybody has to make decisions about their schedule, about players playing and back-to-backs and trips and that sort of thing,” Popovich told reporters before the game.
“In our case, this month we’ve had 11 away games, after tonight. We’ve had an eight-day trip and a 10-day trip, and we’re ending it with four (games) in five nights here. I think it’d be unwise to be playing our guys…”
